Stripping Stripes

Stripes are as timeless as black, at least that's my opinion. I'm not very fond of printed clothes. I'm a plain-color kind of girl but I dig stripes. Why? - because it keeps you from plain, dry, and boring but it maintains such elegance and classic vibe. Allow me to share things I know about stripes...

The horizontal stripes give you volume and shape. It's perfect if you're skinny and you want to give an illusion of additional weight or shape. Look at the dress below. It gives us the illusion that the model is shapely. The striped shorts below will help any girl to have nice, firm buttocks. Even if you're already shapely, you can still go for these kind of stripes if you want a va-va-voom figure. Beyonce eh?

The vertical stripes give you length and height. This is perfect for petite people like me. Look at that pants. I find it hot. I want one pair in my close right now! haha If you are fat-bottomed, this pants would do you a world of wonders. You wont' look bulky instead, simply sexy. Now, look at the long-sleeved top. Isn't it elegant? It's perfect for corporate attire but at the same time, you can wear it on casual fridays but you want to keep it posh.

For some variations, look at the mixed stripes below. The first one is a sultry and sexy bodycon (body conscious) dress. Isn't it form fitting? At the same time, it gives you the impression that you're tall. Don't we all like to be tall like supermodels? The other one is a mixed-striped top. Chubby girls like me could also wear it without looking bulky.

Are you now convinced with the wonders stripes bring? You just have to remember that if you are wearing stripes, your top or pants/shorts/skirts must be plain. You cannot mix a vertical with horizontal stripes. Otherwise, you'd look like a zebra or a maze. More importantly, you don't mix stripes with any other prints, say floral... You'd look like a walking disaster. All the photos are from Mango.
