Posh pairs

I missed browsing the net so now I did and look what i found. I love all these posh finds!

Look at this Andy Warhol New York rock watch with Mona Lisa background. I want it on my wrist! This watch is available at Taste Central. Anyway, it's cool to be paired with this Topshop 60s lace panel shift dress. And that bright blue heels the model wore. These pieces just seem to be a perfect match.

I love little black dresses so excuse me if my next find is yet another LBD. It's a Topshop bow lace dress. And guess what i found to pair it up with - this Stella Luna ankle-length boots (what a lovely, lovely pair). These pieces got nowhere to go but my closet! Also found a chic accessory to complete the look - Vita Fede hand-made Italian bracelet. The Stella Luna boots and bracelet are available at Taste Central.

This accessory can very well go with this Topshop Jordan stripe jeans. You can pair this jeans with any plain/monochrome top. I love this striped pants - it elongates your thighs and legs - perfect for petite girls like me.

Alright, so I can't get enough of dresses. Look at this Chloe Edit Lilia backless sweetheart dress. It's red. I can almost see someone wear this and Alicia Key's song "Girl on Fire" is on the background haha. I'd love to match this with Sidewalk Maika mid boots which sells for  only Php 1,999 in Zalora. I also found the perfect accessory for this pair - Betsey Johnson through the looking glass watch. Sweet! The watch is available at Taste Central.

The watch also matches this Celine tote which retails at only Php 1,799 also at Zalora. Of course, you can always carry your LV or Hermes instead. These pieces can also go with the electric blue bandage v neck skater dress from Topshop.

But if you're heading to the beach or just walking around, killing time, you can pair this dress up with this (again) colorful Tory Burch orange enamel jelly sandals, which you can get for only Php 1,4999 in metrodeal.

I still can't get enough of dresses so look what I found - two more dresses! One is the spring fling peony sleeveless stripe dress while the other is another uber cute Topshop lily dress. I'm not a girly type but these dresses are fab!

Also found this Stella Luna black heels. Pretty huh? This pair of shoes can very well go with the two dresses above. If you're going for a more casual look, you can carry your stuffs in these cool Michael Kors medium jet stripe travel tote which retails for Php 6,999 in Metrodeal. The black heels are available in Taste Central.

Love the pairs? Send me a note.

6 Shades of Rock

Ok, so I've seen a lot of people, guys and girls alike, trying to have a rockstar style. I remember one of our office Christmas parties was themed rock. I overheard one of my colleagues say "oh, my costume would be easy - I'll just wear a black t-shirt." I love black but rockstar fashion is way beyond black. Rockstar fashion is not monochrome and boring, it has a variety. So allow me to give you 5 shades of rock through known female rockstars.

The first and the easiest to pull together is the casual/sneakers rock style. Hayley Williams of Paramore is perfect for this. She wears the basic - a tee, skinny jeans and good old Chuck Taylor sneakers. What makes Hayley great is that she doesn't try too hard and well the color of her hair. Her red hair will be classic one day, I'm sure. So that's your first shade of rock. It's simple. It's comfortable. It's cool. It's rock without much effort.

Another effortless rock look is more like a cowboy/cowgirl look. Sheryl Crow does it best. It's plain blue jeans, cowboy boots, and chunky vintage belts. Acoustic guitar is the most suitable accessory (and the most powerful/compelling one) to this look. The hair? Well any type of hair will blend well with this look. Again, it's effortless. It's cool.

The third one is the typical idea of rockstar style - black and leather and well a whole lot of attitude. I love boots and if you're a rockstar, or at least going for the rockstar style then you have an excuse to wear boots all the time - knee high and black at that. When I think about this style, I can only think of Shirley Manson of the band Garbage. Shirley was also watched out for her changing hairstyle. In a picture on the left, she is sporting a shaved pixie but not entirely a Mohawk.

The fourth style is old school glam rock style - teased hairstyle, a whole lot of hairspray, tight bottom and loose tops, and sometimes, a little bandana. Who rocks this style? Debbie Harry of Blondie. She epitomizes blondie, no doubt about it. Debbie used to be a playboy bunny so she was hot. Blondie the band is more of a punk but I consider Debbie as a glam rock goddess as well based on her evolving style.

The fifth style is gothic - black eyeshadows and black or dark shade hair. Some people who do an extreme gothic look are sometimes typecast-ed as weirdo but hey, some people pull it off and boy, Amy Lee pulls it off real damn well. to explain the gothic look better, I thought of featuring other pictures of Amy but her My Immortal video look is well, immortal. She was immaculate in white but her face, gothic, which added more drama to her look. One thing I love about Amy is that her style is unconventional. Look at those braids! Isn't it just fashionable?

The last style is simply punk and who pulls this look off best? Gwen Stefani. Gwen Stefani is runway ready but before her style evolved to fit the runway, she immortalized mid rib, punk style! Do you remember her pink hair? If not, search for No Doubt's "Ex girlfriend" video. Skirts are also popular to go by. Some piercings and spikes.

Well, there you go - 6 shades or rock. So who says rock = black? Rock style is varied. You can choose one to fit your lifestyle. Again, it's all about your style and a whole lot of attitude!
